The Bill Bennett/David Kuo/Joe Carter website is not long for this world, according to the Washington Independent. Too bad — any site that has John Schwenkler, Helen Rittelmeyer, and Tim Carney contributing regularly is doing several things right.

Oh Damn, I just discovered it! I’m a bit dim about electronic media. How do you go broke without printing costs? Or is something else the matter?
Content, overhead, and salaries are much more expensive for a publication than printing costs. From what I hear, C11 had an editorial staff of six or seven people — about twice the size of TAC editorial. Steve Forbes and the site’s other supporters presumably knew what they were in for, but the market crash (or Madoff?) may have made their financial commitments seem more daunting than they had when the site was in the planning stages last summer.
Dan, Thanks for the peek behind the curtain. Too bad.
