The complete spread reaffirms my pessimism - Sanford would lead the Republicans to no less crushing a defeat then, say, Palin. Unlike Palin but like Goldwater and McGovern, Sanford would not deserve the bloody shirt treatment.
It may not be a practical position, but the best hope for a future for principled conservatism is to have a real wingnut thrown under the bus in 2012.
I’m coming to agree with Mr. Ross. The more that I think about, the more I believe Romney winning the nomination in 2012 and getting creamed in the general might very well be the best thing that could happen for conservatism and the GOP
