Mutual Respect?

Joe Biden is in Serbia at the moment, offering friendly noises about “mutual respect” and agreeing to disagree over the Kosovo question. His warmness is not entirely reciprocated. “Biden, you Nazi scum, go home,” ordered a poster from the Radical Party. “We believe that the statements and policies of Joseph Biden are contrary to the interests of Serbia and the Serbian people,” said Jovan Palalic, of the Serbian Democratic Party. Another politician, Aleksandar Vulin, added that Biden “is not welcome in Serbia.” Most reports have marginalized Biden’s critics as “nationalists.” But can one entirely blame some Serbs — “nationalist” or not — for resenting Biden? He was, after all, instrumental in ramping up Bill Clinton’s aggression towards them in 1995. As Chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, his advocacy of a “lift and strike” resolution encouraged Clinton to initiate the NATO bombing campaign, which killed so many Serb civilians.

The Serbians, unlike some of the Catholics at Notre Dame, have the good sense to know that “agreeing to disagree” is not an acceptable response to questions of life and death.
Killed so many Serbian civilians?!!
Just because Biden is a Democrat let’s not give a free pass to the Serbian criminals for what they did in the 90s.
Just a few weeks ago, Serbia voted against a UN resolution that called attention to the human rights abuse in Iran.
In 2003, Serbian army officers flew to Iraq to prepare Saddam Air Defense weeks before the US-led operation began.
With a vast majority of the Arab states on its side, with Russia and China championing their case (including Fidel Castro and Chavez), the Serbs are just a bunch of anti-Americans (with some exceptions of course).
Leave it to The New York Times to praise the visit as welcomed by the majority. Other reports said Biden visited a ghost town. The police had even advised people against looking out of the windows.
Of course, Serbia will come around, but instead of pressuring them, Biden chose to accomodate them making the situation more difficults for our soldiers in the ground and our diplomats in the region.
Maybe Biden wants to clear his own conscience a little.

I don’t know if you are engaging in parody but I’ve a bad feeling you are not.
Those Serbs, why can’t they just accept that those NATO bombs were for their own good!
You just do not know what you are talking about! Only you know is what you see on TV! So, you only know what “they” want you to know! Finaly, you just do not know what you are talking about!
Instead of talking writing stupid things, come to Serbia and see our beautiful country and meet our beautiful people
