Aletheia - Truth. Meaning “unveiling” or “uncovering.” Ortega y Gasset says that this was the word for the “truth-finding process” used by the pre-Socratic philosophers, but that it was too unsettling for those of the classical period, and the occupation was re-named, more neutrally, “philosophy.” Aletheia was transformed into the more exotic and oriental term ‘Apocalypse’ for the last book of the Bible.
