I don't know. I'm not a Republican, and I don't know of any Republicans who think I'm one of them. We're accustomed to the same sort of abuse around here.

'Of course not. The WMD pretext was secondary to the entire project, and what has been billed as the failure of intelligence is simply the cover story to explain away the deliberate deception of the public by the government. '

Now why is that you can say that and people still consider YOU a republican but when I say it people accuse me of giving aid and comfort to the enemy. LOL

Of course not. The WMD pretext was secondary to the entire project, and what has been billed as the failure of intelligence is simply the cover story to explain away the deliberate deception of the public by the government. The point here is that the official story of an intelligence failure will make it much more difficult politically to justify another preventive war, since the experience of Iraq soured most people on launching unnecessary wars and even among hawks preventive war without reliable intelligence will not sell.

'It’s almost as if Krauthammer is willing to contradict himself to make whatever rhetorical flourishes any given column needs!'

Almost?! You know why he can? Anyone who points his mistakes or that he's contrdicting himself is a liberal and his audience doesn't listen to liberals.

Do you believe the Iraq war happened because of flawed or limited intelligence (military intelligence not presidential intelligence)?
