Establishment, with all that implies. Maybe I'm too cynical, but I have to wonder if they're in part overcompensating for their elite status by waxing enthusiastic for Palin's folksiness. (I mean, was David Brooks standing on his couch in his delight over Palin at the end of the debate? As he claimed "most Republicans" were? Uh, doubt it.) I'm not a George Will fan, but at least I can respect him for sticking to his nature, and not pretending to be someone he's not. It's truly amazing that the Republican base is exhilarated by being able to smugly declaim <i>"See, she's <b>not</b> completely incoherent and clueless!"</i>. It's like Washington National's fans claiming the World Series is within reach after eking out a 3-2 win in late September. b) Let me third rnrkennedy and Cole in saying that you are one of the best bloggers out there.
