To clarify, I'm reminded that here in Washington state, in our open primary, Republicans running for office often didn't list their party affiliation, or else instead of "prefers Republican party" put "prefers GPO".

I think I'm in his district.
One thing I've noticed around here is that no one puts their party affiliation on their sign. You don't know who's republican or democrat. Previously candidates would trip all over themselves letting you know they were Conservative Republicans. Now they're just a candidate looking to serve. Weird.

" Bizarrely, the NRCC has been trying to nationalize races all year long by talking about Obama and Pelosi when the path to surviving the profound anti-GOP mood in the country is to make every contested race as localized as possible."

Gingrich made the same mistake in 1998, although with much less catastrophic consequences than what we are about to witness.

2008 as 1964? I think this is the last time the GOP nominates the senior Senator from Arizona. Not that there is any comparison (Goldwater left a movement; McCain leaves nothing), but the voodoo of it is pretty weird.
