How would our political and pundit classes ever pay the bills if they were concerned with such antiquated notions as "sense" or "logic"? Probably the truest thing I can think of about the Nobel prize is that we will have all forgotten it in a week. It makes great fodder for half-baked columns, but in terms of actual effects it may have in the long or even medium term, it’s already outlived its significance.
