This evening begins Rosh Hashana and the High Holiday season - as I often kid my Catholic friends, we do it right by starting with Easter and ending with Mardi Gras.

Anyway, I mention this in the public domain because I must say that two events of the last few days - Obama’s scrapping of missile defense and the release of the Goldstone report, each with far reaching implications, give me great hope for peace in the new year.  On the latter see this press release by Rabbis for Human Rights, whose current chair I am proud to call my own beloved rabbi, and from whom I will be hearing the good word tonight.
