That’s just what Elliott Abrams does in the new Weekly Standard, invoking old Scoop Jackson himself as a model for how to reverse Obama’s Thermidor.  If, indeed, the Republicans are doomed because they erroneously believe talk radio really speaks for middle America, where do we even begin with the hyperabsurd notion that they are represented by the editorial board of Commentary?

As Pat Moynihan memorably put it to Bill Kauffman, “How many people in Buffalo do you think read Commentary?”  The neocons hoisted on their own petard – how sweet it is.
