Somehow I thought I’d already posted on this subject and so was just going to do a follow-up, but I guess not. In any case: Chris Orr’s take on the Jerry-Taylor-on-Rush-Limbaugh fooferaw over at NRO is a helpful – and hilarious – addition to Michael Moynihan’s H&R post of a few days ago and Conor’s brilliantly-titled post at TAS, all three of which serve as solid evidence that my February take on John Derbyshire’s talk radio cover story was, sadly but unsurprisingly, spot on.
Talk radio dogmatism, indeed. You’d think the thrice-divorced blowhard was the frigging Republican pope.

Totally off topic, but can we get some Kobe vs. LeBron basketblogging action? Here’s a good starting point:
http://myespn.go.com/blogs/truehoop/0-40-80/The-State-of-the-Great-Debate–Kobe-vs–LeBron-2009.html
Is there really a debate? Kobe is very good but obviously in decline; LeBron, meanwhile, is just playing a different game than everyone else – it’s downright scary, and it’s the first time, vintage Kobe included, where I’ve been willing to admit that a player is approaching Jordan Status.
But what the heck, I’ll read Henry Abbott …
Of course there’s a debate! Look, I know you and JL are really busy with forthcoming posts on organic granola plantations and the most overrated program in college basketball, but I think a playoff post or two would liven this joint up.
Okay, okay. The real problem lies with my lack of cable, though – let me watch some games this weekend and see if I have something to say. Problem is, it’s really LeBron who gets me all fired up these days. But maybe Houston and Orlando will pull through and I can write a long, celebratory post about how Kobe and Paul Peirce are WASHED UP.

Third way conservatism…
Must conservatives choose between Arlen Specter and Rush Limbaugh? Can’t they both lose? Jim Antle says, “Hey, why not paleo-ish-conservatism without the prefix?” Excerpt: Fortunately, there is a third option. There is a flavor of conservatism that …
Ouch, you put Pierce and Kobe together. That hurts, John. And it’s also wildly implausible.
Okay, fine. Pierce is washed up. Kobe’s just getting there. And that’s fine – pre-Wizards era vintage Jordan was fun to watch, too, though of course Kobe isn’t quite as good as that.
