If she stays out of politics, I will clap; if she returns to politics, I will boo.
I really, really hope this isn’t a decision made on the hopes of launching an early 2012 campaign. She must realize that she is now, more than ever, completely unelectable outside of Wasilla.
I’ll vomit. That speech she gave today was one of the most hopelessly rambling, disjointed bits of rhetoric I’ve ever encountered - she’s far worse than Biden, even.
P.S. If this is accurate, then it looks like it’s time to applaud. And - pending confirmation, obviously - good for her.
If Andrea Mitchell’s sources are correct, I think I will finally have respect for Palin. This respect won’t be for Palin as leader of her state, because she has clearly abandoned her duty to be a full-term governor, but for Palin as a mother. It was appalling to see so much support for her, a mother of 4 month old and a pregnant teen whose pursuit of the VP office became an all-consuming affair, from pro-life conservatives who should have naturally wondered if this was a prudent decision. I also hope this announcement will forever spare the world of Andrew Sullivan’s obsessive and irrational investigations into the paternity/maternity of Trig Palin.

A few months ago, Michael Steele said something to the effect that Tim Pawlenty, Sarah Palin, Mark Sanford and Bobby Jindal were four rising stars in the Republican Party. It’s been years since we’ve seen a star shower as big or swift as this one.
